Shutdown Vaccine also allows you to perform remote shutdowns for Networked PC's. Furthermore, Shutdown Vaccine supports command-line operations, as well as creation of batch files for any selected action.

Shutdown Vaccine can automate most PC power related tasks. ie. perform a nightly shutdown of computers in a computer lab. Rather than having to go to each computer individually, you can configure Shutdown Vaccine to turn off each workstation at a particular time or date. Saving computer administrators from having to perform the same manual tasks.

By incorporating smart shutdown policies - Schools, businesses and libraries reduce their computer electricity usage by over 30 per cent.... A typical desktop PC uses about 65 watts. Add another 80 watts for a 17" CRT monitor (35 watts for an LCD). To put this into perspective, a light bulb uses about 75 watts.
